NonostanteMarras

is the next-level concept store that witnesses Antonio Marras' creativity from angles you never knew existed. Clear your agenda for April 16-21 at 8 Via Cola di Rienzo, because that's the showtime for "Il Mare Dove Non Si Tocca". Picture this: among the vibe of hand-embroidered lamps and shirts, you'll get to see Marras' collab with Nodo Italia come to life in the form of funky chairs, sofas, and tables, all under the spell of the artist's wild imagination. Down in the showroom's basement, get ready to navigate an art-inspired maze that feels like old sea-worn wooden pathways. Peeking through the glass, it's like time-traveling to savor memories.

UPS – Under Pressure Solutions

As the world zips by, changing faster than ever, industrial design's got to keep up, facing fresh hurdles head-on. Cue Milano Design Week 2024, from April 16 to 20, between 11 am and 8 pm, ECAL's stepping into the spotlight with "UPS – Under Pressure Solutions." A cutting-edge research aiming to lighten the furniture world's ecological footprint with the magic of shape memory materials. Over at Via dell'Orso 16, the show presents the journey and breakthroughs of this venture, spearheaded by five visionary industrial designers from ECAL's own ranks. But wait, there's more – you'll also get a sneak peek at the genius brewing in the minds of Master Product Design students, showcasing the untapped and vibrant potential of cellulose sponge.

Illaripuna

Illaripuna is participating in Design Week with an appointment at Design Variations 2024, the event sponsored by MoscowPartners that brings together designers, brands, universities and stakeholders from the international scene. The brand created by Argentine designer Magdalena Sanchez de Bustamante with the aim of recovering and enhancing the ancestral techniques of the Andean regions will thus present Willka Hilos Sagrados, the new collection of rugs, tapestries, ponchos and blankets made by hand and precisely for this reason intimately linked to the sacred ritual of weaving. According to tradition, yarns can assure love and protection to the dyers, spinners, grandmothers and mothers who work them, protecting them not only from the weather but also from dark energies. And at the same time revealing their deep connection to the Andean countries.

On The Rocks

This Milan Design Week 2024, Bottega Veneta is bringing some serious style to Palazzo San Fedele with "On The Rocks," a collab masterpiece alongside Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier. Swing by between April 16 and 20 to catch this cool setup, featuring the swanky Le Corbusier tabouret LC14 Cabanon stools that already turned heads at the Fall Winter 2024 fashion show. And here's the kicker: these stools are rocking a unique burnt wood vibe, thanks to a cool Japanese technique that not only armors them up but also brings out those mesmerizing wood grain patterns, making it a total one-of-a-kind show.
